How Clipboard Online works

A quick overview of how clips, files, expiration, and one-time QR access behave.

1. Text clips stay lightweight

Create a short text clip without signing in. The app returns a short token, direct URL, and one-time QR code.

2. File uploads require sign-in

Google or Apple authentication is used only for upload initiation. Recipients can still open the resulting share link directly.

3. Everything expires automatically

Both text clips and file shares are bound to a TTL. Expired resources are filtered out immediately and cleaned from storage on schedule.

4. QR access is intentionally one-time

Phone handoff QR links are consumed on first use, which keeps quick-access links from lingering.
